Interesting times, eh? A quick update for yinz on what Zoo City Apparel is doing to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19.
All your current orders are on schedule and we expect your upcoming orders to be as well.
We are working exclusively online and over the phone. We are not open to the public at this time. All local orders that would normally have been picked up will be delivered to your address, free of charge to you.
Beginning today, March 16th and until further notice:
We are not open to the public at this time. All local orders that would normally have been picked up will be delivered to your address, free of charge to you.
If you need to talk with us regarding a new order, we’ll be doing that over phone, email and via online conferencing. Any samples needed will be shipped to you as above, free of charge. Our office and shop is not open to the general public during this time.
Our front end/office will transition to remote work/telecommuting to the extent physically possible.
Our production will continue as normal, consolidating shifts to the extent possible, using the minimum number of workers possible per shift and require all employees meet the following criteria:
Self-quarantine to include trips for essential items only, absolutely no attendance to public gatherings or gatherings of more than 10 people and severely limit any in person gatherings of any size to those that are absolutely necessary. This is regardless of presence or absence of symptoms.
No symptoms present in self, anyone in the household or anyone you may have recently contacted.
We have an ample current supply of surface disinfectant specifically effective against human coronavirus and, thanks to our generous and pragmatic suppliers, a 60 gallon restock en route. All common surfaces will be treated on a schedule to remove human coronavirus during active shifts.
Our supply chain has not yet been disrupted significantly by this pandemic. Until the point where all our available staff fail to meet the above criteria, we will continue production on schedule, without disruption to your in-hands dates. Should this change, we will let you know at the time of your initial order inquiry and you can also stay tuned here and on our social media feed.
The screen printing and embellishment industry has a lesser role to play in this overall picture at the moment but we’re still acting preventatively and immediately to contribute as we can.
We only ask that you all do the same, both individually and as organizations.
Our leadership is delivering vague and also mixed messages on what citizens should be doing at this moment but for all the confusion around the topic, this much is clear- we each have an individual, moral obligation to do all that we can to slow the spread of this virus.
Remember that it may not be you who is hurt by this but our elders and those in our community who are immunocompromised. Keep the people of Milan in your thoughts today, and keep their experience in your thoughts for tomorrow. With an overloaded healthcare system and a continuing rise in infections, healthcare workers there are being forced to make decisions that no human should have to make regarding their patients. This is only one, early example of how an outbreak like this will impact our own local systems. We trust all of you reading this will join us in flattening the curve, as they say, of this disease so that we can care for our sick compassionately.
In solidarity and good cheer,
-Zoo City Apparel
